The brief
As part of a design challenge during Paynom’s hiring process, I explored a redesign proposal for their mobile and web platform, focusing on usability improvements, visual consistency, and a refreshed user experience.
The context
I started by understanding the current experience, analyzing similar financial platforms, and identifying opportunities to make the journey simpler and more intuitive. The goal was to design an experience that helps users quickly access their money with clarity, confidence, and ease.

Understanding the current experience
I reviewed Paynom’s current experience by analyzing its screens, user flows, and interface components. This allowed me to better understand the existing product and uncover opportunities to improve clarity, usability, and visual consistency. (Excuse my super bad quality screenshot)

The problem
The platform felt fragmented and outdated, with disconnected sections, unclear hierarchy, and a lack of a cohesive visual system. These elements created friction and made the experience feel less intuitive and trustworthy for users.
The solution
I redesigned Paynom’s platform to create a more intuitive, cohesive, and user-centered experience. Taking the opportunity to explore a new visual direction, I introduced a lightweight rebranding approach, improved key user flows, strengthened visual hierarchy, enhanced accessibility, and created a more modern and trustworthy interface.

Final Design & Key Elements
Visual Identity / UI Refresh
Introduced a refreshed visual direction to make the platform feel more distinctive, modern, and aligned with Paynom’s goal of creating a more human financial experience.

Consistent Design System

Created a more cohesive interface by refining components, patterns, and visual elements to provide consistency across the platform.
More Engaging Experience
Added more personality and warmth to the interface, moving away from a generic financial product and creating a more approachable experience for users.

The outcome
The team responded very positively to the redesign, appreciating both the improved user experience and updated look and feel. The collaboration was so successful that it led to me joining the company and continuing to work on the product.
