Neuroarchitecture
in Workplaces
This study, co-authored by Gloria Urmeneta and Gema Sánchez under the guidance of Professor Juan Luis Higuera-Trujillo at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), explores how office design can shape the well-being and productivity of the people who work in them. Using AI-generated imagery, we apply the PAD and SMB scales to assess emotional responses —such as comfort, stimulation, and sense of control— as well as perceptions of space, light, and order. We also integrate the Kensei Engineering method, which translates emotions and sensory impressions into tangible design elements.
Our aim is to identify design guidelines that align with each company’s unique needs and vision, ultimately helping create workspaces that inspire, support, and perform. This research is currently in preparation for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
